ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s daughter – Maryam Nawaz – took a dig at Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan after his sudden decision to call off his protest in Islamabad.
Maryam’s reaction came after Khan abruptly put off his protest, saying that his objective to force Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to order an inquiry into the Panama Leaks was achieved with the Supreme Court’s hearing.
“Another assault on the country comes to a naught. I hope that those making a hasty retreat will learn from the embarrassment,” Maryam Nawaz tweeted.
In a second tweet, she said that it was the prime minister who had requested the Supreme Court to set up a judicial commission. “Let this be on record that it was the prime minister who requested the honourable Supreme Court for a commission on April 22,” she said.
