KARACHI – Federal government has decided to make former Karachi mayor Mustafa Kamal as approver along with Sarfraz Merchant in money laundering case against Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).
Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Director Investigation Inam Ghani has spoken to Merchant while FIA Sindh Director Shahid Hayat contacted Kamal who agreed to support the government in the case. Kamal put a condition that he will appear before the court as witness if Merchant appears before the court.
Sources in FIA confirmed that Merchant has agreed to appear before the court giving surety to the government for complete support. He said he will appear before the court as witness after having consultation with his legal team.
Sources said that FIA team is in contact with money changers and people involved with hundi business to collect evidences about the case.
